Isle of Wight Faux Fest Sponsored By SPAR

The Hunnyhill Stores Group, which operates 13 SPAR stores on the Isle of Wight, was the major sponsor of a music festival on the island which has raised more than £4,500 for the Donkey Sanctuary in Wroxall.

Sponsoring the event under the SPAR banner, Hunnyhill ran the camp shop in a large marquee at the Isle of Wight Faux Festival, selling soft drinks, sweets, snacks, cider, lager and wine over three days at the end of August.

The Faux Festival attracted thousands of visitors from the UK and Europe and it was the third year the event had been staged by the Donkey Sanctuary. The festival featured tribute acts for the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Elton John, Madonna, Stevie Wonder and many more.

John Perrett, Hunnyhill’s Managing Director, said: “Between us and the suppliers who supported us (Carlsberg, Pepsi & Echo Falls), we raised £4,583.28 for the Donkey Sanctuary, so we were delighted with that.”

Hunnyhill opened its first store on the island in 2000 and now employs 130 people in its 13 stores. The company’s expansion has provided a significant boost to the SPAR brand on the Isle of Wight.
